Day 7: DayTrip with Josef - Exploring the Czech Countryside

Today we used DayTrip services again and had another great tour guide, Josef. He was planned to take us from Vienna to Kutna Hora and finally into Prague

The Czech countryside was beautiful, there were a lot of wineries along the way.

Josef asked if we wanted to make a stop for coffee, we decided this was a good idea. So, he brought us to Mikulov and walked us around the small picturesque streets. The colorful buildings couldn't help but make you feel happy.

We did one circle around the town, taking in the sites.

And instead of coffee, we enjoyed some local wine.

Josef had just finished telling us that no one carried or bought guns in he Czech Republic. Johan saw this store and told him he was a liar.

We got back in the car and drove and drove some more, by more and more of the rabbit houses.

We made our planned stop in Kutna Hora. We saw two UNESCO World Heritage sites, two cathedrals.

A view of the city center

The other cathedral

We did not make it in time for the bone church, but we explored the grounds and enjoyed the spooky at,sop here anyway. The feeling of Kutna Hora was such a stark change from the happy feeling of Mikulov. Maybe another time, Bone Church. After I explained to Kelly what it was we would see, she was actually relieved that we were not going in, so there is a positive!

We made it to Prague and had a delicious Italian feats, with gorgeous desserts. It was a great welcome to Prague.

Our waiter was very nice and was so excited when Johan wanted to talk about ice hockey. The exchanged stories about their favorite players. As Josef did on our drive, he also spent a lot of time trying to get us to say thank you in Czech appropriately. They both tried fervently and I think I'm the end started telling us it was perfect because they couldn't take hearing it one more time.

Our apartment is very interesting. We have murals on the ceiling...

And creepy statues on the balcony.

Should be an interesting and cold stay in Prague.
dobrou noc!
